BioPuppy is an minimal Linux OS and electronic workbench for bio-informatics and computational biology. It has been designed to meet the needs of beginners, learners, students, staffs and Research scholars.
BioPuppy Linux has created only for non-profit/educational purpose and released as a Open Source Operating System for Bioinformatics.
BioPuppy is derived from Puppy Linux. Programs in BioPuppy are Open Source and license of individual products are duly acknowledged. Some of Bioinformatics tools like Mafft, Mfold, ClustalX/W, Phylip, Modeller, MGL Tools, Copasi and others are having dual license for educational/non-profit purpose and commercial/business purpose.
Redistribution of BioPuppy Linux is allowed only for Puppy Linux based tools. Not included all the dual license Bioinformatics tools mentioned above. You should get the permission from the individual authors to add these tools in your redistribution of BioPuppy Linux. Please read all these tool's license schemes carefully and then proceed for redistribution. BioPuppy or Puppy Linux is not responsible for your license/legal issues.
If you are planning to use BioPuppy for commercial or business purpose, you have to buy separate license from individual authors of all the Bioinformatics tools. However you should duly acknowledge to us and get the prior permisson to use BioPuppy for any kind of commercial/earning purpose.
